Drennan Acolyte Pro 10m Whip

The 8-meter whip has been a fantastic seller, brilliant for fishing at that length. However, anglers often add a section to make it longer, which is not ideal because the whip is too thin and lacks the power to flick the rig out. The 10-meter whip, on the other hand, provides more strength and diameter at the bottom, making casting much easier.

The top five sections of the 10-meter whip are telescopic, while the bottom three sections are take-apart, allowing you to fish at shorter lengths. The whip features a solid carbon topper flick tip with a swivel Dacron connector, preventing tangles. If you prefer using elastic, you can remove the flick tip and use the provided PTFE bush to run elastic through the top section. For stronger elastic setups, an additional bush is provided for the third section.

Fishing with a 10-meter whip is about technique, not muscle strength. The whip casts the float, not your body strength. The whip flexes through the middle sections, allowing you to cast light floats effortlessly. Today, I've fished with a 1.5-gram pencil float, casting it out about 17 meters from the bank. This whip is perfect for large catches of smaller fish on rivers and also for more aggressive fishing on larger waters like Ireland's locks, Damflask reservoir, and Tamar.
